Club Cars , Keith Hutson

Keiths first car that I knew of was a Mk1 Cortina, this was a white 2 door Consul Cortina (thats the pre-airflow one), I think this only lasted a month before mum & dad made him sell it, too much work, no time and little knowledge.

then can his Mk3 Cortina, this was used to attend a number of shows. I think the first project was in fact a van, a 300E bought in partnership with Lionel (me) and built in a shed made from pallets and a tilt for a roof. those were the days. Before the van was fully finished and on the road we bought another, this time a 400E, again a joint venture but not for long. It was decided that Keith would have and finish the 300E and that I with my new family would have the larger 400E.

As a quick to finish run around Keith found and old rallied Anglia 105E, missing its race engine meant that it was a bargain.

A Fiat Twin Cam and a magazine article (Swap Shop, May 90) later and keith had his first road legal modified.

It still sits in the back of the garage awaiting the second reincarnation

Other cars include Bobs old Pooh truck, (into which we fitted another TC motor.) A Mk1 Cortina 4 door (also fitted with a TC) and numerous other Fiat's & Lancia's including his Integrale

The Model B was the one given away by Custom Car, Keith traded it in a unfinished state for his 300E van, less the engine for which the new owner supplied us a Rover to put in its place.

It was not long before the new owner was getting fed up of not using the van enough as it still used to much fuel (the reason for the original engine swap) so Keith offered him the Cortina Mk1 he had at the time and got the van back for a second time.

The sale of the van and some of the parts that came with the 32 all went into building the coupe.

this will be the cars third year on the road and now we have colour, this colour has been planed from the outset, next will come the wheels and tyres.
Wheels and tyres were bought at the swap meet, you would not beleive the price. they also happened to be chevy bolt pattern and so bolted on with no mods.

The new toy has landed, after many years of looking keith has finally found an all steel model 'A' tudor sedan at a price he could afford.
The trade off is that the lancias have to go.

Plans are low and fully fendered, like the 88 david mann picture in american rodder, not sure about the roof chop as yet.
